Acknowledgments and Thanks

To The Philadelphia Jewish Genealogical Society for their recommendation of two genealogists who made all of this research possible.

Elaine Kolinsky, who went to Montifore Cemetery in Philadelphia and discovered our Chazanov ancestors along with the multitude of research she did in the various Philadelphia archives. Also, she taught me how to do "proper" research.

Miriam Weiner, who found all of the documents in Ukraine and created family trees from them, and who tediously planned and implemented our visit to the Chazanov ancestral towns in Ukraine. Miriam has been there for me, every step of the way.

To Vitaly Chumak, who guided us so professionally through our ancestral towns, made the plans for us to meet our new relatives and just made our Ukrainian trip the most memorable of our lives.

Without the above, there would not be a Chazanov Family Story.

To Steven Kitnick for finding me and bringing in the information on the Chazanov/Rubinson connection, and for the beautiful poem he wrote to me on Jewish Gen.

Last, but far from least, to my husband Alan who has helped and supported me in every way throughout the seven years of this project.
