All research on the generations who did not
immigrate to America, was done by Dr. Joseph Gutmann.
Zerlina Eisemann (Eisenmann in Germany) was
the wife of Leon Fine and my great grandmother. She was born
in Rieneck, Germany.
Her family on her mother's side traces back to Rieneck 1760.
She was he daughter of Helena (Hindel) Neugrass (1827-1892)
and Samuel Eisenmann (1815-1872) from Bad Orb. Zerlina's maternal
grandparents were Lob Neugrass (1796-1865) from Rieneck and
Sara Frank (1786-1876) from Hessdorf.
The Eisenmann family consisted of five daughters and two sons:
Zerlina was the oldest born in 1852. Braula was born in 1855
and died at the age of 13.
Gella (Carrie) was born in 1857. She immigrated
to America with her sister Zerlina in 1883 and settled in
Philadelphia. She married Charles Cohen and had two daughters
and a son.
Lena was born in 1859 and immigrated with
Zerlina and Carries to Philadelphia. She married Albert Gelberg.
They had a mens store on Richmond Street. Lena and Albert
had a daughter Sarah and a son Albert. Sarah married Jay Fuller
and had a son Leonard. Jay was an architect and then had a
bakery.
Josef Eisenmann was born in 1862. He had
a general store in Gemunden, which was just three miles from
Rieneck. Josef married Babette Strauss. They had the children:
Selma born 1887, Nellie born 1889 and Samuel born 1896. After
Josef's death in 1913, Selma and her husband ran the store.
They immigrated to America in 1936 with their son Joseph Gutmann.
Sam Eisenmann born in 1896, in Gemunden immigrated
to Philadelphia in 1926. He never married. He was in the rag
business and died in 1962.
